The Holland College Junior Hurricanes are set to meet the league leading Kensington Moase Plumbing & Heating Vipers twice this week in important Island Junior Hockey League games; the Vipers currently lead the IJHL with 31 points while the 'Canes trail by four points and sit in second place.
This Thursday at 8pm the 'Canes will host the Vipers at the Pownal Sports Centre before the two teams meet again Sunday evening at 7pm at the Kensington Community Gardens; these are the final two times these teams will meet this regular season.
In six meetings so far this season the Vipers lead the season series 4-1-1.
Kensington enters Thursdays game winless in their last two games; they've recently dropped games to the Sherwood Falcons and the Western Red Wings to fall to 15-5-1 in 21 games.
The Junior Hurricanes are coming off of their annual holiday break where there last game was held on December 14th in Kensington where the Vipers used a big third period to win 6-2. They currently hold a record of 13-8-1 in 22 games played.
The Holland Hurricanes expect to have players returning to their lineup after missing games prior to the holiday break with injuries; Bryce Abraham and Nick MacDonald most notably will be welcome additions to the lineup for Head Coach Ryan Maxwell.
"It's nice to have a full lineup moving towards the playoffs; it's something we’ve not had all season long so we'll see what we can do as a team over the final ten games of our regular season", shared Maxwell.
