Red Wings Capture IJHL Title

Abel Arsenault scored the winner in the early stages of the third period as the Arsenault's Fish Mart Western Red Wings held on for a 3-2 win and clinched the IJHL Championship in game seven on Tuesday night in over the Kensington Moase Plumbing & Heating Vipers.
 
The win was the first for the Evangeline-based Western team and comes a year after losing game seven to the Vipers in the finals.  It also snaps the Vipers 7-year reign as IJHL champions.
 
Chasse Gallant and Cole Hackett also scored for the Red Wings, while Connor Morrissey and Robbie Fraser added assists.  Campbell Gallant and Cameron Roberts scored for the Vipers, while Logan Vandervelden (2) and Ben Keefe picked up helpers.
 
Bronson Banks took the win for the Red Wings, while Grant Grady took the loss for the Vipers.
 
The shots were 42-37 for the Red Wings.
 
The Red Wings will travel to Fredericton for the Don Johnson Cup starting on Tuesday, April 24th.  You can follow along with their progress at www.djcup.ca.
