 A lack of available players has forced the Charlottetown Abbies to fold for the 2012-13 season with a month and a half remaining in the regular season. The team has had several injuries and players leaving for work commitments which has depleted the team's active roster to the point the team is unable to continue.
For the remaining five teams, each team's first home and away game against the Abbies will continue to count towards their teams standings and player stats. All additional games vs Charlottetown have been deleted. As a result, each team will then have 26 games count towards their standings.
The playoff format will be the same as last year with a #4 vs #5 mini-series (best-of-5), followed by best-of-7 semi-finals and finals.
On Monday night, the league held a dispersal draft to release the Abbies' player rights to the other five teams. Here are the results:

In other league news on Monday, the Holland College Hurricanes acquired Matt Patterson from Montague in exchange for Stewart Branstrom and a 3rd round pick in 2013.
