After a 3-2-2 start to the season the Hurricanes will be looking to turn their season around with a victory and snap their current losing streak, now sitting at nine games. They have challenged the league's best in close games but have had difficulty finding the win column. Their current losing streak includes four one-goal losses versus Montague (twice), Western and Kensington, two two-goal losses which included an empty netter to Western and Sherwood, two three goal losses to Sherwood and Montague and a 7-0 defeat to the Kensington Vipers. Patrick Cummiskey is leading the 'Canes in scoring with 27 points in 16 games this season while Nick MacDonald has been a boost to the 'Canes lineup, averaging 1.33 points per game since joining the team. Matt Derry is expected to start in Saturday's game as he's handled the bulk of the playing time for the 'Canes this season, seeing action in 12 of their 16 games thus far. In his 649 minutes played he has a goals-against-average of 4.81 and a saver percentage of .872.
